June 22, 2022: Local Artists

Twayn mentioned he was going to the local artist night at the Bullseye. It's a pretty cool collection.

You've got the budget to go to three games this season. Which artists' days will you be attending?

Elton John – Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy

Sir Reginald and Bernie wrote a lot of good songs together. This is one of my favorites, thanks to my sister who played the album over and over and over and over ad infinitum. We got to see Elton back around the turn of the century/millennium when he was broke and touring solo sans band to pay off his debts. My sister has seen him half a dozen times or so.

2022 Game Log 69 – Guardians at Twins

Twins and Guardians in the first of 8 games over a 11 day stretch to determine who is can take the reins of the AL Central Division. Cleveland always seems to be competitive even when they dump salary -- bringing in a new stable of pitchers that seem to have a MLB future. Luckily tonight may not be one of those nights as right-hander Aaron Civale on the mound for the Guardians after a stint on the Injured List. Even before his injury, Civale hasn't pitched that great and hopefully Twins bats can take advantage

Joe Ryan up for the Twins as he looks to get back to his pre-Covid form as we head into the the summer section of the season.

Looks like a nice night for baseball with first pitch at 6:40.

Twins Lineup
2B - Arraez
CF - Buxton
SS - Corea
RF - Kepler
DH - Sanchez
3B - Urshela
1B - Kirilloff

Dickey Betts and Great Southern – Blue Skies

I saw Dickey Betts and Great Southern play at Colorado Sun Day 2 in old Mile High Stadium on June 26, 1977, damn near 55 years ago.  Out of the seven acts that played that day, I'd rank them tied for second with Marshall Tucker, a short distance behind Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was a hell of a show.
