Russ Hodges was a baseball broadcaster from 1929-1970, most notably with the Giants. He is most famous for his home run call on Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" in 1951.
Ron Necciai struck out 27 batters in a nine inning game while playing for Bristol in the Appalachian League in 1952.
It may never happen, but Bill James belongs in the Hall of Fame.

They managed 3 hits and Dozier had 2 of them (one for a Twins HR!). Trader Clete had the other. It was that kind of day.
PJ Walters took the loss - going 5.1 innings while giving up 4 earned runs on 9 hits and striking out 4.
For what it's worth, they're telling me that ii hit his 300th career homerun as a Tiger at Target Field. He hit is 1st career homerun as a Twin at Tigers Field...how many of you care?
The Twins are now at 30-36, 2 games ahead of the last place White Sox and 7.5 games behind the AL Central-leading Tigers.

Third Monday Movie Day
I can't name a movie of the month. I know I saw a good one. I'm sure of it, in fact. I just can't remember what it was.
Last night I meant to watch the Kirsty MacColl doc that E-6 pointed out to me, but with today's work schedule changing, it seemed like a bad idea. I'll try to get to it today.
I did see the fifth season of Arrested Development, which was loads of fun, if a bit of a different show (major characters would go 3-4 episodes without appearing). I'm also way into House of Cards and I'm caught up on Venture Bros., which got stranger than ever in season four.
I've been spending a little more time reading, which is cutting into whatever little time I have for the whole film thing. I should receive Micmacs in the mail soon, though, so I'll get another Jeunet movie crossed off the list. He makes movies so infrequently, I really have no excuse not to be caught up.

Last night I got home from work and found out that tonight's shift had, since I left, been changed to this morning. My manager has several positive qualities, but "remembering to tell people when their next-day schedules are changed dramatically" is not one of them.
