I have a three-day "weekend" from Tuesday-Thursday that's really all I can think about. The shifts around it will be brutal, but I'll take it.

2012 Game 69: Minnesota Twins at Cincinnati Reds
Nick Blackburn
v
Homer Bailey
Unfortunately, as is the case with bad teams, the hot streaks are short lived. The Twins are below .400 again, ensuring Seattle remains easily in 13th place. They are ahead of Colorado now though, so they've fallen out of a top-three draft pick.
Where They Stand
Minnesota is 27-42, fifth in the AL Central, nine games behind Cleveland. The Twins have lost one consecutive game and are 3-7 in their last ten games.
Rochester is 33-40, sixth in the IL North, eleven and a half games behind Pawtucket. The Red Wings have lost one consecutive game and are 4-6 in their last ten games.
New Britain is 36-34, third in the EL Eastern, four games behind Reading and Trenton. The Rock Cats have won one consecutive game and are 3-7 in their last ten games.
Fort Myers finished the first half 28-39, fifth in the FSL South, twenty and a half games behind St. Lucie. The Miracle is 1-0 in the second half, tied for first with Bradenton and Palm Beach.
Beloit finished the first half 39-31, second in the ML Western, five and a half games behind Wisconsin. This qualifies the Snappers for a playoff spot.
Elizabethton is 2-1, tied for first in the AL West with Bristol and Greeneville.
The GCL Twins are 3-1, first in the GCL South, one game ahead of the Rays and the Red Sox.
The DSL Twins are 8-8, third in the B. C. B. C., two and a half games behind the Diamondbacks and the Reds. They have won three consecutive games and are 5-5 in their last ten games.
Game 68 Recap: Sandwich
I did not watch or listen to the Twins at all last night. Here's a link to the official mlb.com story, which I'm guessing nobody will click on because who cares? Instead of recapping the game, let me recap the sandwich I made for dinner.
I'm traveling to Europe next week and I'm endeavoring to use up all my perishable food before I leave, so I basically emptied the fridge for this bad boy. I started with two slices of whole wheat bread. One one slice, I spread a thick layer of extra-garlicky hummus. On the other slice, an even thicker layer of 2% cottage cheese. After that, the ingredients as follows: diced red onion. Finely chopped green pepper. Shaved carrot. Sliced grape tomatoes. Cucumber slices? Of course. And a big heap of fresh spinach. Topped off with a pile of mesquite-smoked deli-sliced turkey breast. Then I drizzled it with Italian salad dressing, and doused it with Frank's hot sauce because #YOLO.
And, my friends, let me tell you... it was

A slugfest in Rochester. Some big innings for the Miracle. A big first for the DSL Twins.

June 22, 2012: Why? Just…Why
A couple of days ago, a kid I work with got fired because he consistently smelled so terrible that customers complained almost every day. He was sent home several times after getting in, and still didn't use this as motivation to bathe. The guy was a pretty good salesman, too, which makes the whole thing even more pathetic.
