James Dunn was the owner of the Cleveland Indians from 1916-1922.

Infielder Ellis Clary was a scout for the Twins for over two decades.

Luis Garcia is a member of both the Venezuelan Hall of Fame and the Caribbean Hall of Fame.

Actor Scott Patterson, best known for his role on The Gilmore Girls, was a minor league pitcher for seven seasons, pitching 373 AAA innings but not reaching the majors. He was in the Yankees and Braves systems.

Brad "the Animal" Lesley was drafted by the Twins in the seventh round of the 1977 January draft, but did not sign.

Quinn Mack is Shane Mack’s brother and got 21 at-bats with Seattle in 1994.

Toby Gardenhire, of course, is the son of the former Twins’ manager.  He was a player in the Twins’ minor league system, reaching AAA, and would have been the manager of AAA Rochester in 2020.

We also want to wish a very happy birthday to Rhubarb_Runner.

Additionally, it seems appropriate on this day to mention former minor league players Marty Boryczewski, Ralph Scorca, Mike Weinberg, and Brent Woodall, both of whom were killed in the terrorist attacks of 2001.

September 9, 2020: Cameo Appearance

As I've mentioned, I'm on the company's "party committee", charged with arranging the main summer and holiday work events. The former was cancelled, and now we're trying to figure out how to manage the latter. A couple weeks ago, we decided to take our venue's offer skip this year and transfer our deposit to 2021, but we still need to do something.

Now, we're trying to figure out something Zoomish. We still have this years budget though, and a brilliant idea of mine was to procure 3-4 personalized videos from Cameo to be interspersed throughout whatever we do. This whole long winded story is leading to this point: the very idea of Cameo is weird and insane and a little sad and depressing, and browsing the available options is very peculiar.

Dots Miller’s given name was John.  He got the nickname “Dots” because when he first came up, a sportswriter asked teammate Honus Wagner who the new guy was.  Wagner, in his thick German accent, said, “Dot’s Miller.”

Hugh Mulcahy has one of the worst nicknames in the history of baseball.  In four seasons as a starting pitcher for the Phillies, he twice led the league in losses.  He went 45-89 for his career, leading to the nickname “Losing Pitcher Mulcahy”.

The brother of Phil Roof, Paul Roof was a pitcher for four seasons in the Braves’ system, never going higher than Class A.  He was actually on the Braves' major league roster as a September call-up in 1961, but did not appear in a game.

2020 Game Log 44 and 45 – Twins at Cardinals

Two games today against the Cardinals. So this is a game log for both. Also I am pretty sure these are 7 inning games. These are the only two games against St. Louis and then the Twins don't play until Friday again. I know this has been a crazy schedule due to the truncated season, but not sure how this week's schedule came about.

Berrios pitching game 1, Dobnak in game two.

First game line up:
2b Arraez
3B Donaldson
SS Polanco
DH Cruz
LF Rosario
1B Sano
RF Cave
CF Buxton
C Astudillo

Game 1 at 1:15p; Game 2 at 4:15p.

Manchester City
Manchester United
Newcastle United

Comment with SPOILERS below and I'll get it all compiled. (Or maybe I'll outsource it.) Submissions due by September 18.

Also, I've traditionally participated in a head-to-head Fantasy Premier League for $20 that recently dissolved, so I'm trying to create a replacement. If anyone wants to play (it'll only be for $20 if we get enough entries), let me know and I'll shoot you the league code. It's run on the Premier League website and will use the $100.0 salary cap, so you'll just need to create a team and join the league by this Friday.
