Scott Diamond pitches a gem. Miguel Sano and Adam Brett Walker II go deep. Zach Granite should be on the same team with Rock Shoulders.

Happy Birthday–August 12
Christy Mathewson (1880)
Ray Schalk (1892)
Harlond Clift (1912)
Fred Hutchinson (1919)
Bob Buhl (1928)
Kevin Cooney (1950)
Matt Clement (1974)
Lew Ford (1976)
Kevin Cooney was an eleventh round draft choice of the Twins in 1972. He pitched in the Twins’ organization for two seasons, then a shoulder injury ended his playing career. He then became a college baseball coach. He was the head coach at Montclair State from 1984-1987 and at Florida Atlantic from 1988-2008.
John Hartford – Tall Buildings
I remember watching John Hartford pick the banjo and guitar on the old Glen Campbell show as a kid. The running gag on the show was that John never really spoke, he just let his music do the talking. Sometime around 1980 or so I went to see him at the old Guthrie Theater with some friends. He sang this song that night. It's been one of my very favorites ever since, and it takes on more poignancy with each passing year. You youngsters can check out a David Mayfield tribute cover here, and a Gregory Alan Isakov version here.

2013 Game 115: Twins at Hosers
Kevin Correia faces Jose Quintana, a reasonably talented 24-year-old, on the South Side.
Here's the prediction spreadsheet.
Four Citizens currently have seven of the playoff-bound teams correct: CarterHayes, DK, Philosofer and sean.
This was the first update since around game 54 of the season, and each league had but a single change: Tampa Bay subbed in for the Yankees, and the Dodgers subbed in for Arizona.
Washington and Toronto continue to be the most-picked non-playoff-bound teams.
Any other AMRs out there can break this down further, if they see the need. We never did settle on a points system for this, so maybe I should figure one out...
Minor Details: Games of 8/10
Pat Dean is pitching better in AAA than he did in AA (small sample size). Reynaldo Rodriguez and Miguel Sano lead the Rock Cats to victory. A strong outing by Jose Berrios.
Imagine Dragons – Radioactive

I hear this song probably 40 times a day because my co-worker exclusively listens to top 40 radio. You're welcome.
August 11, 2013: Showing My Age
Last night after work I watched three episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and my instinct afterward was to watch something vanilla and wholesome like The Patty Duke Show to cool down. I didn't, but still...I thought it.

Game 114: Twins @ Palehose
So we swept the doubleheader. That was fun. Let's press on toward a sweep of the 'series' variety.
Today, Mike Pelfrey against somebody named Andre Rienzo. Rienzo's making his third major league start.
I predict a riot...of runs. Lots of runs. Also, lots of Twins strikeouts, but as long as they also give us the lots of runs, I'm okay with that.
