Johan Santana Region: #2 vs. #15
2. Johan Santana Strikes Out 17
My god that changeup.
15. Rosario Wins Game With Walk-Off Assist
There's probably a bias to 2019 moments in this bracket because I remember them, but also because each moment was amplified as it was the best regular season the Twins have ever had. So this throw, while not the hardest for sure, was pretty amplified.

Random Rewind: 1966, Game One Hundred Thirty
MINNESOTA 1, CHICAGO 0 IN CHICAGO
Date: Saturday, August 27.
Batting stars: Rich Rollins was 3-for-4. Ted Uhlaender was 2-for-3.
Pitching star: Jim Kaat pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out seven.
Opposition star: Gary Peters pitched eight innings, giving up one run on eight hits and three walks and striking out five.
The game: Rollins hit a one-out single in the second. With two down, Bob Allison and Uhlaender hit back-to-back singles to bring home a run and put the Twins up 1-0.
And that was the only run there was. The only real White Sox threat came in the second, when Jerry Adair and John Romano hit consecutive one-out singles. Jim Hicks struck out and Lee Elia popped up, and Chicago did not get another hit the rest of the game. They did get a pair of two-out walks in the seventh, but Hicks grounded out to end the inning. The Twins got two on in the seventh and again in the eighth, but they did not score and Kaat made sure they didn't need to.
WP: Kaat (20-9). LP: Peters (11-10). S: None.
Notes: Cesar Tovar was at second base. Bernie Allen is listed as the starting second baseman, but he only played eighty-nine games there compared to Tovar's seventy-four, so it looks like the two basically shared the position. Of course, Tovar could play pretty much anywhere on the field.
Rollins was at third base with Harmon Killebrew at first. The normal lineup was for Don Mincher to be at first and Killebrew at third. It looks like the Twins essentially used a platoon, with Rollins at third and Killebrew at first against left-handers and Mincher at first and Killebrew at third against right-handers.
Tony Oliva was leading the team in batting at .314. He would end the season at .307.
Kaat would finish the season 25-13, 2.75, 1.07 WHIP. He led the league in wins, starts (41), complete games (19), and innings (304.2). Had there been separate AL and NL Cy Young Awards back then, he surely would've been in the running. As it was, though, there was only one Cy Young Award, and it went to Sandy Koufax, who was 27-9, 1.73, 0.99 WHIP and had 27 complete games.
Remarkably, Kaat had only three no-decisions all year.
I wonder when the last time was someone had twenty wins before September. Bob Welch in 1990 comes to mind, but there certainly may have been someone since then.
The Twins stranded ten men and went 1-for-9 with men in scoring position.
The Twins had nine hits and Chicago had three. All the hits were singles.
Record: The Twins were 69-61, in third place in the American League, fourteen games behind Baltimore. They would finish 89-73, in second place, nine games behind Baltimore.
The White Sox were 66-64, in sixth place in the American League, seventeen games behind Baltimore. They would finish 83-79, in fourth place, fifteen games behind Baltimore.

The IT Crowd: Laptop Dance
Several months ago I had plans to do another upgrade project on my laptop. Built in 2010, the Dell Latitude E6410 has been my daily driver for many years now. I had already done the quick and easy upgrades, exchanging the original hard drive for an SSD, swapping out the wireless card for an 802.11ac model, and adding an HD decoder card for flawless video performance. But I wanted more. I did some research and found that you could replace the stock Intel i5 processor with an i7 and thereby increase the RAM capacity from 8GB to 16GB. Since more is better but I also tend to procrastinate a bit, I got the parts and then never got around to doing the project. Until now. There are lots of reasons to like a Latitude - good design, solid builds, and value. Because of their widespread enterprise use you can pick up 3-4 year old off lease models on eBay for a song. But for me the kicker is how easy they are to work on and upgrade. The back cover is held on with a single screw, and once removed you have access to the whole can of worms.
Right there in the middle is the new CPU, an i7 720qm quad core running at 1.6 gigahertz. Over to the left next to the cooling fan compartment is the NVidia video processor, and that is where my project went sideways. When I removed the cooling fan to get access to the CPU, the thermal pad between the GPU and heat sink tore and I had to scrape it off and throw it out. Thermal pads are used to fill gaps between processors and heat sinks so they maintain good contact and provide efficient heat transfer for cooling. When I reassembled the unit I gooped it up with thermal paste, but the gap was too big. I got good heat sink contact with the CPU, but not the GPU, so when I tested it out the GPU temperature was spiking up to 80 degrees Celsius. It got so hot that it affected my keyboard, which started to lag and glitch. No good. So while I consider the project successful, it's not quite finished. I have some thermal pads and copper shims on order that should be here by Monday. In the meantime, I'm working on my daughter's old Lenovo Thinkpad T400 that I resurrected to serve as a backup until my parts arrive and I can complete the Latitude project. After that I'm going to tackle another long overdue project, upgrading the processor and adding an HD decoder card to the old 15.4" Thinkpad T61, the last of the true IBM laptops, which is currently running Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia like a champ.

Johan Santana Region: #7 vs. #10
Today you get to pick from two huge go-ahead homers that both wound being heartbreaking losses.
7. Torii Hunter Homers off Tanyon Sturtze in the 2004 ALDS
Sadly in 2004 I worked for a nursing home whose primary mission was to bust unions and they forced their salaried workers to work extra hours to sit in the parking lot looking for union members illegally stepping onto our property. My shift to do that started in the 11th inning of this game. I listened to Torii hit his homer on the radio. I got back home and turned on the TV just in time for Nathan to give up a double and and J.C. Romero to give up the winning run.
If Corey Koskie's double against Mo had not gone over the fence or if the umps had invoked their ability to let Rivas score from first (which he totally would have), then that would definitely be the moment from this game.
10. Miguel Sano Homers off Zach Britton
I freaked out when this happened.
