One more sort of patriotic song. Okay, it's a stretch.

Ted “Double Duty” Radcliffe played in the Negro Leagues for many years. He got his nickname because he would sometimes catch one game of a doubleheader and pitch the other. He played professionally until 1954, when he retired at age 52. He is the oldest player to ever appear in a professional baseball game, throwing one pitch for the Schaumberg Flyers of the Northern League in 1999 when he was 96.
John Gordon was a radio broadcaster for the Twins from 1987 through 2011.
Tommy Moore was drafted by Minnesota in the twenty-eighth round in 1966, but did not sign.
Cory Provus has been a radio broadcaster for the Twins since 2012.
Suzuki and Perkins. Well, huh. Also, Neshek and Morneau. I was holding out hope for Dozier, but this slump has done him no favors.
In case you haven't heard about it, Derek Jeter is retiring and today is his last (regular season) game in Minnesota. For some reason, the Twins figured the most appropriate home for the last Second Base bag used at the Metrodome was Jeter's closet. I know there haven't been a ton of quality players manning the middle for the home team in the past 15+ years, but c'mon, Derek F*cking Jeter?! It's a nice gesture for a retiring player, but I'd prefer they hang on to that piece of memorabilia for someone who actually played more than 30 games in that building.
Since moving to Target Field, the Twins have not won back-to-back home games against New York. They last beat the Yankees in consecutive games at home six years ago. Let's hope that changes today.

The Red Wings field like the DSL Twins. Two pitchers make identical starts for New Britain. Felix Jorge and Tanner English lead Elizabethton to the only Twins win.
Mid-summer is so dull. Dull at work, dull in life (okay, probably not always). Say something interesting.

Why Star Wars? Hell if I know.
Yohan Pino tries to keep the imperial troops from entering the base as the evil empire counters with David Phelps.
Here's hoping that this one deviates from the script. After this one and tomorrow's tilt, we don't get any more chances at these guys, and a season series win would sure be awesome.
