2022 Game Log 37 – Twins at Oakland

Twins continue to beat up on the bad and ok teams, which is what a team needs to do in order be eligible for the playoffs. Hopefully the trend continues as the Twins head to game two against the 15-23 Oakland A's.

Dylan Bundy on the mound and he's fallen back to earth after winning his first three starts of the season (albeit with lots of run support). Last start was atrocious with Bundy giving up 9 earned runs in 3.2 innings to the Orioles. Yuck! James Kaprielian up for the A's and although he was on the losing side of a 1-0 game against the Twins ten days ago, he has not pitched well at The Coliseum.

Twins will have to do it without Byron Buxton again as we has another designated rest day.

First Pitch at 8:40p local time.

Twins Lineup
1B - Arraez
2B - Polance
DH - Sanches
RF - Kepler
LF - Gordon
CF - Celestino
SS - Lewis
3B - Miranda
C - Jeffers

Sir Douglas Quintet – At The Crossroads

Maybe it's getting older, maybe it is I can only listen to the same songs so many times but I have spent a lot of time the past few years seeking out new to me stuff.  Here is one I stumbled across last year that has been covered by a few folks. Doug Sahm and his crew, 1975 at Austin City Limits

As you probably know, James "Cool Papa" Bell was a star in the Negro Leagues.  It was said that he was so fast he could turn out the light and be in bed before the room got dark.

Ace Parker is a member of both the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fame.  He was an infielder for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1937-1938.

Left-hander Greg Mathews was drafted by Minnesota in the ninth round of the January draft in 1982, but did not sign.

We would also like to wish a very happy birthday to Philosofer.

Gabriels – Blame

Morning all. Over the last ten years while I haven't been contributing as much to the WGOM I have been raising my herd and listening to tunes. Hopefully one day we may all benefit from both of those actions but this week you may see some value from the tunes side.

2022, live at Wonderland

Unrelated I had some folks reach out to me privately about the disgusting events from over the weekend in Buffalo. Thanks to the well wishers. This happened in a real food desert neighborhood and local food banks and counseling services could always use any help they can get. Sadly, I know that the Twin Cites know this pain too.  All good vibes are reciprocated.
