I Heart Pork Red Meat, you shoud too.

It's been a while since I've actually cooked dinner. We've been on the road in SoCal, then down to New Orleans, and when we returned home we went straight to packing up the house. The good doctor requested something good, on the grill, and contained in some sort of edible spoon. I cycled through the ideas, carnitas (braised on the grill... perhaps smoked... yeah, I'll do that one later), tandori chicken (maybe, maybe not), red chili marinated skirt steak fajitas? Yeah, that one is a winner. Recipe after the jump  Continue reading I Heart Pork Red Meat, you shoud too.

Game 56: Twins bust a Capps in their a$$

Twins 4, Royals 2

WP: Blackburn (2-4 7.74 ERA), LP: Mendoza (2-3 5.36 ERA)

SAVE! Matt "Busta" Capps (14)

Twins Record 22-34, but the boyos are 7-3 in their last ten #itsmaybenotgoingtobethatbad

Let's look at the King of the Savers leader board, shall we. Perez sits atop the the list with 19 saves in 20 chances, but only Papleboner remains perfect with 15 saves in 15 opportunities.

This is all Nibbish's fault. Blackburn pitching respectably, Capps shutting the door, the offense not being offensive, wild betting, cats and dogs living together. It's mass hysteria. #itshappening

Culture club: Tomorrow I may be back to fill this in, but for now feast on this.

Game 50 Recap: Yeah, it was that Frankie

Twins 4, Oaktown zero
WP: Francisco (1-5 7.20 ERA) LP: Ross (2-6 5.94 ERA)
Save? No.

Fangraphs loves it when a plan comes together.

(yeah, this isn't safe for work)

Oh, mama. Frankie was pretty awesome today. He went 6 surrendering three hits and two walks while striking out nine. He gave up zero runs, none of which were earned. Awesome. Burnett and Gray finished off the remaining three innings allowing only one more base runner.

The big pussy didn't get a single hit today. Boooooooooooooooooooooo to the 3 walks and 2 runs he got today. The local nine didn't need him anyway. Thank goodness Willinghammer was there to Thrillingham us (again(!)).

Yeah, today was a good day.

Culture club: LA is a weird place, and I've had a weird trip. Tomorrow, I've got an appointment to meet up with printer I totally respect: Richard Nielsen. Richard founded Untitled Prints and Editions in Los Angeles' Chinatown as a multidiscipline printmaking publisher and contract printshop. He's printed a bunch of great art over the years, and offers a print membership program that offers members 2 free impressions a year. Check out the prints Richard helped Gregor Mobius create based on his work on visual DNA.

Game 42 recap: Twins in Chicago.

Twins 0, Sux 6
Wp: Sale (5-2) LP: A streetcar named Diamond (3-1)
Twins record 15-28. Man, that's fugly.

Fangraphs thinks Carroll, Dozier, and Mastroianni each sold have a third of the loss.

It's hard to win a ball game when your defense gives away free outs. It's even harder to win a ball game when those errors lead to three unearned runs. It's made even more difficult when the Clubbie accidentally put the ass bats in the dugout instead of throwing them into fireplace. On the bright side, it was bring your dog to the ballpark day so we got to see some puppies.

Streetcar finished the day with a mildly respectable line of 6 ip, 9 hits, 5 runs, 2 earned, 1 bb, 4 Ks, and one danger allowed. The offense was offensive at best. The boys managed 4 hits on the day, and three of them came from the bottom of the order. Some punch and judy, pussy singles hitting catcher had the other hit. That same nancy also had 2 free passes on the day. This wuss accounted for 3/8 of the twins base runners yesterday, but that's not good enough. I say gardy should bench the bum.

Culture club: Anchor Graphics has been a Chicago printmaking institution for the last twenty four years, and in 2006 they joined Columbia College. Their mission was to create an open space for the development of printmaking granting access to the equipment and trained professionals to every level of artist. They continue this mission through community outreach, workshops, publishing, artist residencies, and studio rental. I really admire the folks at anchor, and if you find yourself in Chicago I'd recommend a visit to this cultural landmark.

Game 37 Recap: Charlie Sheen says the Twins are Winning.

Twins 11, Tigers 7
WP: Burnett (1, 0(he's perfect(!))), LP: Below (2, 1)
Honorary Save: Perkins. He didn't blow anything up, so, he gets a save.
Twins Record: 11-26. Booooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Fangraphs thought this was in the bag after the top of the second.

See-SawSnarky comments are the new market inefficiency. Blackburn went 2 innings tonight. Blackburn coughed up 5 runs in the second inning, but finished strong by picking off M.Cab while Del was "batting". The Twins battled back in the top half of the third to tie the game, coughed up the tie again, and took it back by force in the top half of the sixth. The local nine didn't look back after that point. That is to say, Matt Capps didn't have to pitch.

I'd suggest reading the game log, but that would be admitting that it's comments represent a market inefficiency.

Culture club: Well, shoot. I'm all tapped out tonight. I promise an update from the businessman's special at Angles ballpark tomorrow.
