First Monday Book Day: Half-Baked or Otherwise

Lucy Ellmann - author of the fantastic Ducks, Newburyport has an essay collection coming out.

Her publisher live-tweeted one of her essays in which she lists things which are "crap". 257 tweets, and it's fun to find the thing that makes you say "now, hold on."

Anyway, that's as much as I got for reading intro this month. Half-baked crap I tell ya.

Minor Details: Standings and Stats: Through July 5

The St. Paul Saints are 25-28, in fourth place in the AAA East/Midwest, nine games behind Omaha.  They are 5-5 in their last ten games and lost their most recent game.  They have a run differential of -27.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 31-23, in first place in the AA Central/North, a half game ahead of Tulsa.  They are 6-4 in their last ten games and won their most recent game.  They have a run differential of +35.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 28-26, in second place in the High-A Central/West, eight games behind Quad Cities.  They are 4-6 in their last ten games and won their most recent game.  They have a run differential of +27.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 31-23, in third place in the Low-A Southeast/West, six games behind Tampa.  They are 4-6 in their last ten games and won their most recent game.  They have a run differential of +19.

Jack Krol was a long-time minor league manager and major league coach. coaching for St. Louis from 1977-80 and San Diego from 1981-86.
