Bernice Gera was the first female umpire in Organized Baseball, umpiring one game in the New York-Penn League in 1972.

Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo was an outfielder for the Brunswick Pirates of the Georgia-Florida League in 1952.

Quarterback Jake Locker was drafted by the Angels as an outfielder in the tenth round in 2009.  He signed a contract with them, but never played a game of professional baseball.

Where They Stand

Minnesota is 28-29, fourth in the American League Central, 4 games behind Detroit.  The Twins are 5-5 in their last ten games and have won two consecutive games.

Rochester is 34-25, first in the International League North, 1 game ahead of Syracuse.  The Red Wings are 7-3 in their last ten games and have won three consecutive games.

New Britain is 25-31, fifth in the Eastern League Eastern, 12.5 games behind Portland.  The Rock Cats are 5-5 in their last ten games and have lost two consecutive games.

Fort Myers is 34-24, first in the Florida State League South, a half game ahead of St. Lucie.  The Miracle are 7-3 in their last ten games and lost their most recent game.

Cedar Rapids is 27-32, seventh in the Midwest League Western, 12 games behind Kane County.  The Kernels are 5-5 in their last ten games and have lost two consecutive games.

The DSL Twins are 1-3, fifth in the Boca Chica Baseball City, 3 games behind the DSL Orioles1.  The Twins won their most recent game.
