Twins need to put together a whole game.
Go Twins!
Tonight the Twins continue their L.A. trip, starting a series against the Angels. They'll get to face Ohtani on Sunday, so hopefully they can pick up a few at the start of the series. They looked good against the Dodgers, even though the results didn't work out the right way.
Tonight Joe Ryan, who is good, pitches against Reid Detmers, who hasn't been as good. So that's promising.

West Coast day game!
That battle of the 'ays today and final game against the Dodgers this season. It's been a competitive series so far, at least per the results for someone not willing to stay up past midnight on the opposite coast.
That figures to continue with Gray pitching today. He's been absolutely excellent this year. His May hasn't been as strong but now is a good time to improve his May stats versus a May.
So an up and down night at Chavez Ravine Monday with poor starting pitching, a Twins team that battled back to take a late lead, crappy umpiring, and then a bullpen implosion. Hollywood is just down the way from the ballpark, it should take notes on the drama and villains from last night. Now the Twins have to bounce back with a depleted bullpen and a shot at Clayton Kershaw. Hopefully, Phil Cuzzi is no longer behind the plate and along the 3rd baseline where he belongs. (Narrator: Cuzzi in fact should not be along the 3rd base line either).
Bailey Ober on the mound for the Twins and he's done really well and making a case for staying up in the bigs. Thing I learned today: Bailey Ober is tall! He's listed at 6'9". Unfortunately for the Twins, Clayton Kershaw putting up great regular season numbers again. Perhaps we can use some Hollywood CGI magic and convince him today's outing is a playoff game.
First pitch at 9:10p Central and looks like a glorious night for baseball out in southern California.
Hey, look at that, another free MLB.tv game! And our old friend Plouffe! will be in the booth the whole road trip.
The Twins walk into Dodger Stadium while the home team maintains a nine game win streak in their arena. On top of this, the Twins have lost ten(!) games in a row against the Dodgers.
Syndergaard is not at his best this season and López is at nearly half his ERA. While the Dodgers have decent pitching overall, let's hope the Twins can get to Noah early.
The Assbats® seem to have taken the weekend off, and hopefully they didn't make the trip out to LA.
More free baseball today, if that's your thing. I kind of wish these Twins' home unis were the same color as their hats. Give your mothers a kiss!
Got in a little league game this morning despite overnight rain, and now I’m frying plantains to make pastelón for supper tonight.
Kepler is on the IL; Larnach has been recalled from St. Paul. Joe Ryan is on the bump.
Cubs are back to being lowly, right? Lovable losers again? How'd they pull that off so quickly after winning the World Series? Well, good for them.
Drew Smyly goes against Sonny Gray, who is my daughter's favorite ballplayer (her nickname is "Sunny" so... 6 year olds aren't complicated).
The Twins snapped their little losing streak last night and are going for a series win this afternoon. Darvish and Ober on the mound. Busy, busy, busy.
Play ball!

Twins starters are tied with the Mariners for first in fWAR, 5.2. The Rays are third at 4.3. The relievers unfortunately rank 17th. More unfortunately, the batters are way down at 21st. Correa is a big part of that but Miranda has been worse. The success of the starters means it has been nice to know the team will be in the game until late each time. Sure, I also know those 2-0 games very likely could end up at 2-0 or 2-1 but it's nicer than knowing last season it will not stay at only two runs given up.
