No joy in the minors. The Miracle again loses a late lead. A comedy of errors in Beloit.

mlb recap
yet another game i was unable to watch or hear. this made me particularly upset as i've been able to hear about 2% of TK's broadcasts, and i already love them. i was able to "follow" along on gameday, and was able to "watch" in "real time" as capps does what he does. i'm not going to say it, so you guys can. also, while you're saying stuff, please think up some arguments for me to take to the boss on how getting mlb.tv is essential towards our quality of life.
i wanted to embed the JC/plouffe! play to give us some measure of happiness, but i came up short. sounds about right.
April 24, 2012: Anniversary
Ten years ago today, I quit smoking. Still the hardest thing I've ever done, and one of the best.

Scorecard
I don't look at standings or stats much in April, it's sort of like looking at the thermometer. You can tell today's temperature, but you aren't going to spot any real trends yet. Or maybe you can start to see the shape of things to come and I'm just in denial. Either way, I'm not too worried about our slow start (5-11, but who's counting?) when we have such a long, long road ahead of us with many potentially scenic vistas to enjoy.
What I Did On My Summer Vacation
I have never been away from the WGOM for a whole week. Hopefully you all can point me to any awesome threads I missed. And, this may be really pretentious, but I thought I'd recap some highlights and lowlights of my trip. This was my first ever road trip, and aside from a flight to Yakima to see Spooky, I had never left the Midwest before. So the last week I was awash with a whole lotta new.
Minor League Team Leaders
Batters rate stats for a minimum of 40 at-bats. Pitchers rate stats for a minimum of 10 innings.
EEE – The Long Awaited Return
This was orignally a LTE in the CoC, but I decided to give it its own post since it was getting long and I didn't want to clog up the other thread.
EPL Update
Manchester United squadered leads of 3-1 and 4-2 to draw with Everton 4-4. The dropped points, combined with City's win, means that City are only 3 points back with 3 matches to play. Next week is the Manchester Derby Part II, this time at the Ethiad. ManUtd got plastered 6-1 by City at home earlier in the year. A City win will have the Manchester teams tied on points (and City with the edge on GD) with 2 games to play. Also, Newcastle has moved into the fourth and final Champions League slot, with Tottenham Hotspur dropping to 5th.
In news at the other end of things, Wolves have secured their spot in the Championship last year. They are the first team to be guaranteed relegation. No more Mick McCarthy GIF! *sad trombone* Continue reading EEE – The Long Awaited Return
Minor Details: Games of 4/22
Scott Diamond shines. Oswaldo Arcia has a big day. The Miracle and the Snappers lose late.
