This is as close to a star grab as you'll get out of me. Nevermind was released Sept. 24, 1991 - I was 11 years old. It was my first "rock" album and it was a cassette*. After one listen, I flipped it back over and played it again. After about 10 listens, I began to understand that if there was stuff like this out there, then the world was a much bigger place than I'd previously comprehended. I've stayed up until 1am (at least) reading TV Tropes. AMR, did you suggest that? I'm simply lost there.
The local hip-hop scene is quite prolific, with an ever-increasing number of artists. Atmosphere is at the top of my list mostly because of their melodies, accessibility and style. Imagine my surprise to find them performing in London while I was studying abroad there in 2009. Even more fortuitous, the club was 2 blocks from the student housing I was staying in!
