2019 Game 34: Minnesota Twins at Toronto Blue Jays
So the Twins once again showed some resiliency by stomping on the Blue Jays 8-0 last night after a disappointing weekend at Yankee Stadium. This a characteristic that was in short supply of previous Twins teams and a nice switch. More please.
Jose Berrios up for the Twins tonight and has pitched about as well as advertised and as we all hoped: 5-1 record, 0.97 WHIP, a strikeout an inning, and an 8-46 walks to SO ratio. He’s establishing himself as easily the staff ace and a legitimate MLB #1 pitcher. Blue Jays have Aaron Sanchez who’s been pretty average this year. He got rocked last game he pitched which contributed mightily to his 1.49 WHIP. My hope is that these trends continue for tonight.
Vlad Jr. has been up to the bigs for about a week now and Blue Jays fans finding out that it’s not easy for a 20-year old to walk right into a MLB lineup and start mashing. An .152 average with no HRs and 1 RBI is pretty humbling no doubt, but the guy will eventually rake. Let’s just hope that it’s not for a couple more days.
Game time at 6:07p Central. C’mon Twins smoke the Jays, but wait until after you defeat Toronto on the field.

Game 99 — Twins at Blue Jays
All Star Game in the rear view mirror. Trade talks getting dicey. Milwaukee fans acting douchy. Game 99. Wow, where has the season gone?
Twins in their second game against Toronto as they put Jose Berrios on the mound. Berrios has been a bright spot for the 2018 Twins and has been everything I would want from a 24 year old pitcher. Let's hope he continues to improve. Toronto with a new guy Ryan Borucki, who has only pitched 23 innings this year but is getting about a strikeout an inning.
Fun fact: Today's starting pitchers are only 2 months apart in age. 6:10p start.
C'mon Twins, let's smoke those Jays! (that's legal now in Ontario, right?)

Byron Buxton has reached 5 rWAR! Hopefully the Twins dont need an extra inning walk off home run to win tonight. Twins pitching has allowed 3 runs total in the last 3 games. The last clunker of a game came last Sunday when Big Sexy was on the mound.

I said it last night, that was a disappointing series. Should have won minimum of 3 games and it didn't happen. But, the Twins are in the 2nd Wild Card slot as they head to Toronto. Its crazy that its August 25th and this is the first time these two teams have played! Lets look to see who's on the roster...Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson, Kendrys Morales... OH BOY! Twins killers! This should be fun!

Game 128. Twins at Toronto.
The Twins have been stuck on 49 wins for about a week. To get to 50 they will have to beat up on old friend Francisco Liriano. Pat Dean will try to soak up some innings for the Twins. Brian Dozier is probably good for a HR or 3 this series.
