Game 16: Minnesota at Milwaukee

Remember when we were joakingly discussing the possibility of Minnesota's first win coming against the Brewers because they were the first "obviously inferior" opponent on the schedule? Good times.

A win today salvages a season-split with the Sconnie's and would give the Twins their first road win of the season. It would also get them to 5 wins - the same number of W's as the Astros & Yankees (the other divisions' last-place teams).

R. Nolasco (0-0, 3.21 ERA, 8:2 K:BB, 118 ERA+, 3.25 FIP, 1.000 WHIP - 14 innings)
-v-
T. Jungmann (0-2, 9.00 ERA, 9:4 K:BB, 47 ERA+, 4.81 FIP, 1.615 WHIP - 13 innings)

.500 ball at home and .000 on the road is no way to go through a season - let's break through that barrier fellas!

Game 14. Brewers v. Twins

I'm writing this from the Amsterdam airport with so-so free wi-fi.

The suddenly no one wants to play them Minnesota Twins take on the hated Brewers of Milwaukee.   Looking at the weather, not sure I'd this gets in or not.

Ervin Santana mound in his first start since shorning his hair.  Let's hope for good results. I can't let this post go by without mentioning how dumb MLB is to be scheduling this series against the Brew-crew midweek.  This should be on a nice June weekend where the crowds will be plentiful and boisterous. You know create excitement where a kids tells his mom, that was a blast, let's go back again soon.  But then we could write a treatise on MLB and marketing and I have some Heineken and cheese to buy.

2016 Game #12: LA Heavenly Host at Minnesota Gemini

1:10 PM CDT

Kyle Gibson 0-2, 4.22 ERA
Nick Tropeano 1-0, 0.00 ERA

Things to be worried about today:
• The Twins rank last in the American League in runs scored, home runs, and slugging percentage.
• The Twins rank second to last in the American League in batting average, OPS, and total bases.
• The Twins rank third to last in the American League in hits and on base percentage.
• Death and taxes.

Things to be happy about today:
• Two in a row is officially a winning streak.
• The Twins have a chance to sweep the Angels.
• Byung Ho Park hits really, really long [redacted] home runs.
• Joe Mauer is playing like Joe Mauer again. With a stick.

Let’s play ball, Dude.

Game 201: angels @ twins

There, now doesn't that feel better? Even if good things aren't ahead (and let's be honest, things have to get at least a little better - I have to imagine more than 2 Twins will have batting averages above .200) getting that first win feels good, maaan.

Today, Ricky Nolasco takes on Jered Weaver to see who can rebound better from 2015. Weaver is probably done as an ace, but he always seems to pitch pretty well against the Twins. (9-2, 3.22). He gives up a lot of fly balls, so maybe that would be a place to start.

We got the win yesterday, now, onto bigger and better things - the winning streak.

2016 Game 8: Hosers at Twins

Well, this has been worthless so far. For eight years I wanted to get back home, and now that I'm here I'm still waiting for the Twins to win a single regular season game. They're still at home, so I guess that's cool, although they face Carlos Rodon, who Fangraphs and B-R and everyone seems to agree is about to break out in a big way (he struck out a ton in the minors).

Phil Hughes goes for the Twins, and will probably throw two or three balls and ninety strikes. I keep sitting here trying to come up with new ways to beg for a win, but I'll just try to bow out gracefully and whisper that I would, indeed, like one. Let's do this, Twins.
